Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's the first artist of female gender with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho, her first EP on the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained the attention of her peers. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet back in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, she dropped new music through the internet including Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been contracted to Dreamville Records. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. In 2018, she went on to guest feature on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. Then, in November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on November 13, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole in The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It already has more than 3 million hits on YouTube within the debut week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
